WELCOME to The Waste Exchange

The Waste Exchange is a region-wide information exchange designed to help your business find markets for your industrial by-products, surplus materials and waste. Through The Waste Exchange, waste generators can be matched with waste users and reusers.

The Waste Exchange is a free service available to all business and industry and also may be used by non-profit organisations, schools and individuals to locate materials they need.

Benefits

Through the Waste Exchange businesses can:

Ø      Find alternatives to the landfilling of unwanted materials

Ø      Save on disposal costs

Ø      Support community groups and schools by registering re-usable materials

 

Through the waste exchange everyone can:

Ø      Access re-usable materials

Ø      Access information about local recyclers and regional recycling services

Ø      Reduce rubbish going to landfill

 

Goal

The goal of The Waste Exchange is to conserve energy, finite resources and landfill space and to create better understanding about alternatives for materials use and reuse.

Searching for Materials

If you are searching for a type of material or reusable waste click on the 'Search for Materials' box under the 'Listings' menu to the left of the screen and follow the instructions. Enter your search criteria then click go! Keywords need not be entered. Just pick a category and region and then go!

When you find a waste you will need to make sure you are registered to find out the details of the company that has the waste available.

Registering Materials

To register a waste or reusable material, simply click on the 'Register Materials Available' on the left hand menu under the 'Listings' heading. If you have any questions while filling in the catagories, please email info@nothrow.co.nz for assisstance.
